She has expertise in the epidemiology of HIV, sexually transmissible infections and other infectious diseases, and evaluation of innovative interventions to maximise uptake of testing. She is lead investigator of the Australia Study of Health and Relationships.

Dr. Debby Herbenick is a Provost Professor at the Indiana University School of Public Health in Bloomington, Indiana, United States. She is the Principal Investigator of the National Survey of Sexual Health and Behavior, which has been ongoing since 2009 and recently completed its 8th wave of data collection.
