Maternal-Infant Cascades of Viral Hepatitis Care

Heather is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Viral Hepatitis Clinical Research Program at the Kirby Institute. Her main area of focus is enhancing the equity of viral hepatitis elimination, particularly people who inject drugs, women, children, and other populations who are underserved by the current standard of care.

As a midwife and public health researcher, Lisa has more than 20 years’ experience living and working in low-resource settings. Her current program of research in Papua New Guinea seeks to improve maternal and newborn health outcomes through the design, implementation and evaluation of clinical and community-based interventions.

Dr Lucia Romani is an epidemiologist and Lead of the Global Health Trials Research Group at the Kirby Institute, UNSW Sydney. She has over 15 years’ experience leading community intervention strategies for the control of infectious diseases, focusing on neglected tropical diseases and sexually transmitted infections in low and middle-income countries.

Timor-Leste Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Drug Resistance Survey 2024: Children under 15 years of age

Dr Yohanes Antonius Boleng is a physician and staff working at the Menzies School of Health Research Timor Leste as a Senior Project Coordinator for the NHRMC-funded Opportunistic Pneumococcal Immunisation Trial in Malnutrition (OPTIMAL) and the DFAT-Funded HIV Drug Resistance Survey project. He is also a qualified General Practitioner from Universidade Nasional Timor-Lorosa’e. He has previous experience as a medical doctor at Bairo Pite clinic and NGO SABEH. He was a Regional Coordinator at Marie Stopes International Timor-Leste for the Southern Region (Ainaro and Manufahi Municipalities) for four years. Previously he was a Team Leader Surveyor at WHO (World Health Organization) for Mass Drug Administration in the Ermera and Manufahi Municipalities.
Yohanes is originally from Covalima, Timor-Leste, now in Dili, Timor-Leste.

Adam is a Paediatric Infectious Diseases Specialist at Sydney Children's Hospital and a Senior Research Fellow at the Kirby Institute. He sits on the ASHM HIV National Advisory Group, ASHM HIV Guidelines Committee and US Pediatric HIV Guidelines Committee. Adam also works with the UNDP and ACTUP-PNG managing perinatal and paediatric HIV, syphilis and Hepatitis B across PNG and the Pacific.
