Dr Huaman is an Early Career Researcher with expertise on microbial pathogenesis and genomics. Currently, he is working as post-doctoral scientist at the Centre of Women’s Infectious Diseases, investigating the epidemiology and antibiotic resistance of Mycoplasma genitalium, a sexually transmitted pathogen that causes nongonococcal urethritis and cervicitis.

Her work is focused on discovery, pre-clinical characterisation and clinical evaluation of vaccines for Neisseria gonorrhoeae. She is currently leading two clinical trials to evaluate the ability of 4CMenB to prevent gonorrhoea.
