Biography
Dr. Van Der Pol is a Professor of Medicine and Public Health at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the Director of the UAB STD Diagnostics Laboratory. She has been active in the field of the biology, epidemiology and diagnostics of sexually transmitted infections (STI) for more than 40 years. Her behavioral research focuses on delivery, utilization and implementation of new diagnostic technologies. Dr. Van Der Pol currently serves as the President of the International Society for STD Research.

Biography
Jason is an academic sexual health specialist and health economist based at Melbourne Sexual Health Centre. His research focuses on economic evaluations and strategies to improve access to sexual health services. He is advisor to WHO working towards the elimination of HIV/STIs as a public health threat.

Originally trained in anthropology and sociology, Associate Professor Angela Kelly-Hanku is the Head of the Global Health Equity and Justice Research Group, within the Kirby Institute at the University of New South Wales. Her research in the Pacific, South East Asia and Australia is driven by a commitment to person-centred, strengths-based approaches that advocate for equity and inclusion and decolonising research practices to find social and public health solutions to some of our greatest issues. This includes issues of gender and sexuality, sexual and reproductive health, young people, and gender-based violence but also infectious diseases of global significance such as HIV, TB, STIs, Hepatitis B, HPV and cervical cancer and COVID-19.

Dr. Po-Yu Liu is Chief of Infectious Diseases at Taichung Veterans General Hospital and Associate Professor at National Chung Hsing University in Taiwan. He is board-certified in Infectious Diseases, Emergency Medicine, and Internal Medicine. Dr. Liu's research interests include genomic characterization of pathogens and resistance, with a particular focus on improving STI prevention, diagnostics, and treatment strategies, especially for minors.
