Biography

Robert Palm is a Wakka Wakka man from Cherbourg with experience in Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Men’s and Youth wellbeing and coordinator of the Cairns-based IMPACT-STI project at UQ Poche Centre for Indigenous Health. Salenna Elliott is a Senior Research Fellow and national study coordinator for the ENDING-STI project.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Involvement in Research

Biography

Jethro is a Ghungalu man from Central Queensland. Jethro has a 20+ year career in health services with both government and non-government organisations within regional Queensland. During this time Jethro has had the opportunity to work in various capacities ranging from Indigenous Health Worker, Clinical Nurse Consultant and Nurse Unit Manager. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, Blood Borne Viruses and Sexually Transmitted infections, Health Equity and Public Health have been particular interest areas during this time. Jethro plans to complete further studies with the goal of aiding improved Health Equity and reduction of health expectancy gaps for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within Australia.

Biography

Dr Logan Hamley is a senior researcher at Whakauae Research Services. His research broadly explores various elements of wellbeing, and how Psychology and Kaupapa Māori research, theory and practice can enable wellbeing for Māori. He often uses creative methods, in particular poetry, as an analytic tool in exploring these issues.

Biography

Emily is a Project Manager at the Kirby Institute UNSW, managing a large-scale research program aiming to scale up infectious disease point of care testing in remote communities. Emily actively participates as a representative on various committees, offering high-level policy advice and advocacy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.
