Biography

Chris Gough is Executive Director of the Canberra Alliance for Harm Minimisation and Advocacy (CAHMA) and The Connection health service. He identifies as a person who uses drugs and a consumer of BBV and ATOD services. Chris’ expertise centres around peer and consumer driven programming including peer education, peer treatment support, community development, consumer representation and advocacy.

Biography

Dr. Thomas Tu is a molecular biologist focussing on Hepatitis B persistence and carcinogenesis. He is passionate about developing a HBV cure and the associated mitigating liver cancer, as he himself lives with Hepatitis B. He is the founder and director of HepBCommunity.org, a support network for people with HBV.

Biography

Jack Wallace’s social research looks at hepatitis B as an issue where individuals, family (in all its forms), culture, politics and policies, and biomedicine intersect. He has worked in community, government and research sectors seeking to reduce the personal and community impact of blood borne viruses, particularly viral hepatitis.

Biography

Jason Grebely is a Professor in the Viral Hepatitis Clinical Research Program at the Kirby Institute, UNSW Sydney. Jason’s training and research is based in the field of epidemiology, with a specific focus on clinical epidemiology. Jason has a BSc in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a PhD in Pharmacology and Therapeutics, both from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. He completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. Jason is also the President of the International Network on Hepatitis in Substance Users.
