Tianze Sun is a Research Fellow at NCYSUR, UQ. Her research examines how emerging technologies, such as social media and GenAI, influence tobacco and nicotine-related beliefs and behaviours.

Chelsea Falso is an early career researcher in the Flinders Nicotine and Tobacco Research Group. Her work focuses on health messaging for adolescents and young adults.

Melissa works as a Research Coordinator and Psychologist specialising in substance use and comorbidity. She holds a PhD in Behavioural Science and Master of Clinical Psychology. Her research focuses on tobacco and substance use interventions, both behavioural and pharmacological, and has extensive experience in clinical trials, teaching, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Ruth Canty is a PhD candidate in Public Health based in Darwin, Northern Territory. Her research focuses on tobacco retail and tobacco policy in the NT, with a particular interest in understanding the system-level changes needed to reduce smoking prevalence and prevent smoking uptake.

Dr Danielle Tran is a Senior Research Fellow at the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre, UNSW. Her research focuses on generating real-world evidence on the effectiveness and safety of medicines used during pregnancy to manage substance dependence, using population-based linked data.

I am a Senior Research Fellow (2022-current), NHMRC Investigator Fellow (2021-2025; 2027-2031) and Deputy Program Lead for Drug Trends (2021-current; Acting 2021-2022, 2024-2025), an internationally recognised program of research on the epidemiology of substance use and harms, at the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre (NDARC).

Desi Ariwinanti is a PhD candidate at Monash University and Burnet Institute. Her research focuses on electronic cigarette use among young people, with a particular interest in vaping prevention and cessation. She is also broadly interested in adolescent and young adult health and wellbeing.

I am a public health researcher completing a PhD in Population Health at the University of Auckland. I study illicit tobacco using behavioural science and trials, and aim to pursue an academic career advancing evidence-based policy to reduce tobacco-related harm in Aotearoa and the region, addressing health inequities.
