Dr. Michael Curtis is a public health researcher whose work focuses on the intersections of drug use, incarceration, and health equity. He is a Senior Research Officer at the Burnet Institute and a Research Fellow at the National Drug Research Institute (NDRI) at Curtin University.

Sarah Larney is a Professor at the Burnet Institute, where she is the co-head of the Alcohol and Other Drugs Working Group. Her work focuses on the epidemiology and prevention of drug-related harm.

Sarah Blakemore is the Senior Allied Health Manager for Drug and Alcohol Services in South Eastern Sydney Local Health District. Sarah is an Occupational Therapist. Sarah is passionate about providing people who use substances with choice, dignity and connection at the end of their life.

Evie McEachern is an early career researcher with a background in the sociology of addiction. She has extensive experience facilitating data collection in the alcohol and other drugs sector, and currently coordinates multiple research projects spanning clinical and public health settings.

Dr Louise Mewton is a public health researcher with a focus on the epidemiology, assessment, prevention, and treatment of alcohol use and related disorders across the lifespan. Louise's current program of research focuses on understanding and reducing the cognitive impacts of alcohol exposure during gestation, adolescence, and older adulthood.

Rose Laing is a PhD Candidate at the Monash Addiction Research Centre. Her research examines how adults aged 50–70 experience social isolation and loneliness, and how these factors shape patterns of alcohol use. Her research aims to inform more age‑responsive public health approaches to reduce alcohol related harms.

Jen is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia and is the national coordinator of the Emerging Drugs Network of Australia (EDNA). Jen’s professional passion points and research experience are qualitative inquiry, evaluation methodology and harm reduction principles and practice.

Dr Arvind Kendurkar, FRANZCP, FAChAM, MMED (Pain Mgt) is currently enrolled as a PhD Scholar at the University of Sydney. This qualitative study will form part of the PhD thesis on the relationship between Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Opioid Use among adults with Chronic Non-Cancer Pain.

Dr Alicja Lojszczyk is a Phd researcher working as a research nurse for Hunter New England Local health district working on clinical trials in addiction, involving both qualitative and quantitative research. She also works as a lecturer in the school of nursing and health sciences at university of Newcastle
