Dr Kirrilly Thompson is a Senior Research Fellow at the National Centre for Education and Training on Addiction (NCETA). She leads NCETA's research on Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) workforce development and AOD workplace interventions.

Jennie Van Pelt is a Provisional Psychologist and PhD Candidate in Clinical Psychology at Griffith University, Brisbane. Her research focuses on understanding mechanisms of behaviour change toward personalising psychosocial treatments for alcohol use disorder. She is passionate about the scientist-practitioner model and bridging the gap between research and clinical practice.

Sascha is a Research Fellow at Curtin University's enAble Institute. His research focuses on health behaviour change interventions in alcohol and other drug treatment, using co-design, self-determination theory, and N-of-1 methods to enhance harm reduction and treatment outcomes. Sascha has a background in clinical psychology.

Nathan’s research focuses on dimensional assessments of personality functioning in substance use treatment settings and understanding how schema therapy constructs may map onto novel personality assessment tools. Clinically, he has worked across the private and public AOD sector as a Clinician providing individual counselling, group-work and assessments.

Paige Webb’s PhD work explores how methamphetamine use can influence family relationships. Paige is also a Research and Policy Officer at SSDP and a co-founder and coordinator of the Oceania branch of AFINet, an international network that fosters collaboration among researchers and practitioners working with families in the AOD field.

A social worker grounded in compassion and accountability, I focus on innovative approaches to drug and alcohol care. I’m passionate about the psychosocial components of recovery, integrating connection, identity, and community into practice. My work centres dignity, harm reduction, and person‑led pathways that support meaningful, sustainable change.

Anton is a provisional psychologist and PhD candidate. His research interests include risk-taking behaviours, substance use and treatment. He is dedicated to youth mental health, early intervention, and advancing evidence-based practice.

Wan Jie ("Kate") Tan is currently undertaking a PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Wollongong. Her dissertation research examines the cultural fit and responsiveness of mutual-help groups for recovery from alcohol and other drug use among Asian populations.

Heidi is a PhD candidate in mental health and addictions. Her research focuses on the experiences of concerned significant others supporting people who use alcohol and other drugs, with particular attention to women and rural Australian contexts. Heidi also holds an honours degree in psychology and is a trained teacher.

Kasun is a biostatistician and he is a senior research officer attached to behaviours and health risks group at Burnet Institute, Melbourne. Currently, he applies his knowledge on statistical methods with his enthusiasm on public health oriented research to investigate data on people who use alcohol and other drugs.
