Gabriel A. Verón RN, MNSc is a Research Nurse at NSLHD Drug and Alcohol Services, Royal North Shore Hospital, and PhD candidate at the University of Sydney. His research focuses on detecting and assessing alcohol and other drug intoxication in acute clinical settings.

Dr Giang Vu is a Research Fellow at the National Centre for Youth Substance Use Research at The University of Queensland. Her research examines social determinants of substance use and develops culturally responsive interventions, with a particular focus on nicotine and tobacco products across diverse populations and regulatory contexts.

Emma is a PhD student and early-career researcher whose work focuses on understanding gender differences in young adults’ drinking and experiences of harm in Australia.

Dr Hutchinson is a Clinical Psychologist and Professor at the Deakin Lifespan Institute in Melbourne. Her research interest is in understanding the developmental origins of mental and substance use disorders to inform effective prevention and intervention. As a Clinical Psychologist she specialises in perinatal psychology, and child and adolescent development.

Greg Sutherland is a Professor in Molecular Neuropathology at the University of Sydney. He is an expert in combining quantitative neuropathology and multi-omic data together to gain a better understanding of neurodegenerative pathomechanisms with the aim of finding early biomarkers and treatments.

Joelie Mandzufas has extensive experience in managing and conducting research that provides evidence to support the creation of healthy environments. In her role as Alcohol Policy and Research Coordinator at Cancer Council Western Australia, she is part of a team that works to reduce alcohol-related harm in the WA community.
