Jai Whelan (Ngāi Te Rangi; Pākehā) is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Public Health, Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka, Ōtautahi (University of Otago, Christchurch). Jai is also a drug user and keen participant in advocacy work. He is interested in various research areas, but particularly those that pertain to harm reduction, policy, lived and living experience, and the intersection of these areas and Te Ao Māori.
