Oliver Birch is a PhD student at the University of Auckland. He is primarily concerned with opioid use; particularly, he considers how 'opioid dependence' is socially/politically constructed. His work uses Foucauldian analysis, and he is interested in Institutional Ethnograpy as a methodological tool.
