Dr Marianne Jauncey is a public health physician and has been the Medical Director of Uniting’s supervised injecting centre in Sydney for 15 years. An active and passionate advocate for progressive drug policy and law reform, Marianne is committed to reducing inequalities and making the world both a safer, and a fairer place for people who use drugs.

Chris Gough is the Executive Director of the Canberra Alliance for Harm Minimisation and Advocacy (CAHMA) and The Connection health service and is the President of the Board of the Australian Illicit and Injecting Drug Users League (AIVL). He identifies as a person who uses drugs and Chris’ expertise centres around peer and consumer driven programming including peer education, peer treatment support, community development, consumer representation and advocacy.

Nadine is an Addiction Medicine clinician-researcher with 30 years’ experience in addiction medicine and public health practice in Australian and international contexts. A founding fellow of the Australian Chapter of Addiction Medicine, for the past decade she has held the position as Clinical Director of the Alcohol and Drug Service at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney, working as a practising Addiction Medicine specialist and leading a range of clinical services and innovations. Nadine is Professor with the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre, University of New South Wales Faculty of Medicine, as the inaugural Director of the National Centre for Clinical Research on Emerging Drugs. She has previously worked for the World Health Organization, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime. Her current research focusses on working with people who use stimulants and related drugs to develop new and effective interventions, and she has a particular interest in substance use disorders among refugees and other displaced populations.
