Lori Richard is a Métis woman from Ste. Eustache, Manitoba living in territory of W̱SÁNEĆ people on Vancouver Island, BC. She is the Director of Indigenous Programs & Relationships for BC Corrections responsible for providing advice on the development of training, programs, and policies to improve services to Indigenous clients. She oversees an array of Indigenous justice programs across BC, and her unique approach to cultural safety training have been emulated across the justice sector.
Lori is recognized as a leader both provincially ad nationally and was awarded Canada’s Corrections Exemplary Service Medal for her leadership in transforming correctional practice.
