Biography

Eleanor Costello is an experienced public health and prevention practitioner, focused on improving the health and wellbeing of populations, communities and individuals in Australia. Eleanor has dedicated the past twenty-five years to building the evidence-base for public health and prevention within both the public sector and not-for profit areas, with the goal of increasing the priority for and investment into effective public health and prevention solutions locally, nationally and globally. Eleanor currently oversees the Evidence area of the Alcohol and Drug Foundation (ADF), that guides evidence translation into practice across the ADF.

Biography

Dr Paul MacCartney is a General Practitioner and Addiction Medicine Specialist working at cohealth. In 2024 he was appointed as Victoria’s first Chief Addiction Medicine Advisor. He is the chief advisor on issues related to drug addiction, drug use and harm reduction.

Biography

Jai Whelan (Ngāi Te Rangi, Pākehā) was raised and lives on Ngāi Tahu land in Te Wai Pounamu. Jai is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka, where he is currently researching perspectives of methamphetamine treatment, harm reduction, and stigma.

Biography

Stassi Kypri BASc, BSc (Hons), is a research assistant and doctoral student at the National Centre for Clinical Research on Emerging Drugs (NCCRED). His work currently focuses on the role of lived experience in drug monitoring. He is also a member of Students for Sensible Drug Policy Australia.

Dr Louisa Picco is a Research Fellow and Program Lead at the Monash Addiction Research Centre, Monash University and National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Emerging Leadership Fellow. Biography

Dr Nick Kerswell is a clinical psychologist with experience working across a range of settings in mental health and AOD clinical work. His doctoral thesis focused on the assessment and treatment of trauma, more recently focusing on clinical implementation projects with Lives Lived Well.

Tony Barnett is a Research Fellow at the National Centre for Youth Substance Use Research, School of Psychology, at The University of Queensland.
