Dr Annie Madden AO is the Executive Director of Harm Reduction Australia. Annie has a PhD in drug policy from UNSW and has been involved in drug policy reform for over 30 years. She is a co-investigator on the 'Solutions Not Stigma' study and a co-author of the published report.

Ele has been practicing harm reduction in Australia and Asia since 2001. She has worked in and managed needle syringe programs, peer workforce and overdose programs and peer-led drug user organisations. As the AIVL Deputy CEO, Ele advocates for an end to criminalisation and stigma for people who use drugs.

Dr Louisa Picco is a Research Fellow and Program Lead at the Monash Addiction Research Centre, Monash University and National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Emerging Leadership Fellow. Her work focuses on identifying and responding to prescription opioid-related risks and harms and explores the impact of opioid policies.

Chris Gough is the Executive Director of the Canberra Alliance for Harm Minimisation and Advocacy (CAHMA), a peer-based drug user organisation in the ACT’s drug and alcohol sector. Chris is the President of the Australian Injecting and Illicit Drug Users League (AIVL) and identifies as a person who uses drugs.

ATODA Deputy CEO Anke van der Sterren has thirty years’ experience in public health research and evaluation, applying mixed methods to a range of alcohol, tobacco and other drug issues. This has included working in Aboriginal Community-Controlled, academic, and non-government settings, engaging collaboratively with communities experiencing disadvantage and marginalisation.

Loren Brener is a Professor at the Centre for Social Research in Health. Her research is grounded in social psychology, focuses on the impact of stigma and discrimination on health outcomes and quality of care, and aims to advance theoretical understandings and practical outcomes for marginalised and vulnerable groups.
