Biography

Sasha (she/her) is a PhD Candidate and Research Assistant at The Matilda Centre, University of Sydney, researching the epidemiology and prevention of mental ill-health and substance use among LGBTQA+ youth. She collaborates with national and international community, clinical, and research experts to advance LGBQTA+ affirming models of harm reduction.

Biography

Julie Mooney-Somers is an Associate Professor at Sydney Health Ethics, School of Public Health, University of Sydney. She has a long track record in research on the health of sexuality and gender diverse people, including SWASH, a periodic survey of lesbian, bisexual, and queer women’s health.

Biography

Jack Freestone is a Post Doctoral Research Fellow with the National Centre for Clinical Research on Emerging Drugs. Prior to commencing his role with NCCRED he complete research with ACON and the Kirby Institute on services addressing sexualised drug use among gay and bisexual men who have sex with men.

Biography

Bo Justin Xiao works at ACON as a Program Coordinator, where he leads peer support programs for gay and bisexual men who engage in sexualised drug use and those who live with HIV. He also serves as a Board Director at the National Association of People with HIV Australia. Workshop Description This workshop aims to share insights on how to deliver inclusive and affirming care to LGBTQ+ people who use crystal methamphetamine and/or GHB in sexual contexts (chemsex/PNP). Through the collaboration among researchers, peer workers and clinicians, this workshop introduces topic of chemsex with an overview of drugs used in chemsex, priority populations, associated risks, service and risk mitigation strategies.
