Biography

Julie Perrin is a clinical social worker with mental health accreditation specialising in drug and alcohol, couple and family therapy and bereavement, in private practice. She has over 40 years experience in the health/community sector. Her PhD was a qualitative study focused on sibling bereavement when death is drug-related. Workshop Description This workshop is suited to those already working in the AOD sector. The 5-Step Method will be introduced, which is an evidence-based intervention focused on assisting family members who may be affected by a loved one’s AOD use. The 5-Step Method is helpful in guiding work with the affected family members.

Pauline is a Registered Psychologist, with dual Counselling Psychology and Educational Psychology scopes of practice. Five years ago Pauline founded Family Drug Support Aotearoa New Zealand (FDS). She is passionate about providing accessible, accountable, evidence-based services to impacted family members wherever they reside in Aotearoa New Zealand.
