Biography

Russell Deighton is a senior lecturer at the Cairnmillar Institute and clinical psychologist in private practice in Melbourne, specialising in trauma, loss and grief and addiction. He has also worked as an academic and clinician in Germany. His research interests include addiction and emotional processes in clinical disorders.

Nick is a clinical psychologist with experience working across a range of settings in mental health and AOD clinical work. His doctoral thesis research focused on the assessment and treatment of trauma, work which has continued with the UQ LLW Research Group and Lives Lived Well, contributing to implementation projects.

Dr Louisa Picco is an NHMRC Emerging Leadership Fellow. Her research predominantly focuses on identifying and responding to prescription opioid-related risks and harms, particularly via prescription drug monitoring programs and clinical screening tools. Dr Picco’s research also explores the impact of opioid policies on population outcomes.

He is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Curtin University and an Honorary Research Associate at Murdoch University. Sascha’s research interests revolve around substance-use disorders, trauma-related disorders, substance-assisted psychotherapy, physical activity, and behaviour change.
