Dr Akhurst currently works as a data analyst at the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, having previously completed a PhD on opioid use and cognition at the University of Tasmania. Her research interests include pharmaceutical opioid use, opioid substitution treatment, and harms related to alcohol and other drug use.
