Speaker
Dr Nadia Mazarakis
Research Officer
Murdoch Children's Research Institute
Cellular immune responses following a fractional versus standard dose of COVID-19 vaccine (Pfizer-BioNTech [BNT162b2]) in Mongolian adults: a randomized control trial
11:00 AM - 11:12 AMBiography
Nadia is an early career researcher, at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute in Melbourne having recently been awarded her PhD from the University of Melbourne.
Dr Zheng Quan (Ryan) Toh
Research Officer
Murdoch Children's Research Institute
Immune responses in children following SARS-CoV-2 Omicron infection and/or vaccination
11:12 AM - 11:24 AMBiography
Ryan Toh is a postdoc in the New Vaccines Group at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute. His research focuses on understanding the immune responses to SARS-CoV-2 infection and COVID-19 vaccination.
Dr Wen Shi Lee
Postdoctoral Researcher
Peter Doherty Institute, University Of Melbourne
Durable reprogramming of neutralising antibody responses following breakthrough Omicron infection
11:24 AM - 11:36 AMBiography
Wen Shi is an ECR who has an avid interest in humoral immunity against viral infections. He completed his PhD on HIV cure strategies and is now studying immunity against SARS-CoV-2.
Dr Marios Koutsakos
Senior Research Fellow
Peter Doherty Institute
SARS-CoV-2 breakthrough infection induces rapid memory and de novo T cell responses
11:36 AM - 11:48 AMBiography
Dr Koutsakos is a senior research fellow at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, The University of Melbourne at the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity
Dr Priyanka Shirish Hastak
Post-doctoral Research Associate
Kirby Institute
Bruton’s Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitor (BTKi) treatment interruption elevates humoral and SARS-CoV-2 specific B cell responses, but not SARS-CoV-2 specific T cell responses in people with Waldenstrom Macroglobulinemia
11:48 AM - 12:00 PMBiography
Priyanka is a post-doctoral Research Associate at the Kirby Institute. She completed her PhD in microbial genomics in 2021 and was recruited at the Kirby Institute in the Immunovirology and Pathogenesis program; her research is focused on understanding the T cell response in sepsis patients and in vaccinated cancer patients.
Dr Jessica Neil
Research Officer
The University Of Melbourne
An iTSC-derived placental model of SARS-CoV-2 infection reveals ACE2-dependent susceptibility and differentiation impairment in syncytiotrophoblasts
12:00 PM - 12:12 PMBiography
Dr Jessica Neil completed her PhD at the University of Melbourne and postdoctoral training at the New York University School of Medicine studying the immune responses to intestinal viruses. Dr Neil now works with Professor Kanta Subbarao at the Doherty Institute studying cellular responses to SARS-CoV-2 infection.
