Lydia Mainey is a lecturer at CQUniversity in Cairns, Australia. She is a Registered Nurse and has specialised in abortion care. Lydia’s research area focuses on improving pregnant people's access to comprehensive, trauma-informed abortion care. She positions herself as an intersectional feminist who views research as advocacy work.

I am the WNSW LHD SH & HIV CNC and a proud Wiradjuri woman. Our nurse led clinics have been providing transgender, gender diverse and gender affirming health services since 2014 with increasing numbers accessing the services. In August 2021, dedicated 4 hour bi-monthly telehealth clinics with SSHC Drs commenced to meet the need of local clients.
