Biography

Donghua Xia has more than 10 years of work experience in HIV/AIDS, including 5 years at senior management level. Her experience spans Asia, especially China, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and The Philippines. She has extensive experience in program monitoring and evaluation and has evaluated HIV programs for UNAIDS and UNDP.

John is the Senior Policy Adviser leading on HIV for the Victorian Government, and holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Melbourne Law School. Diagnosed with HIV in 2006, John has worked for Living Positive Victoria, the Victorian AIDS Council, and contributes extensively to the Victorian HIV response.

Before coming to The Kirby Institute for PhD, she worked as a researcher at the Centre for Tropical Medicine, at Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia. Her PhD study aims to understand how a global HIV intervention strategy is being adopted and refashioned at national and local level, by clinics and clients.

Lance Feeney was diagnosed with HIV in 1985. Lance managed client and health promotion programs for ACON and was responsible for Positive Life NSW’s policy, advocacy and community research till 2017. Lance is now an independent consultant and Positive Life NSW special representative.
