Biography

Brendan is a paediatric infectious diseases physician, microbiologist and PhD student. Brendan’s research interests include infections in immunocompromised young people, using diagnostics and surveillance data to support effective healthcare. Brendan works with the Paediatric HIV Service at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, a state-wide leading service, helping care for children, families and pregnant women living with HIV.

Biography

Sarah has a background in medical anthropology and runs a large qualitative research programme with adolescents affected by HIV in Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe and the USA. Much of this work is embedded in clinical trials. She has recently moved to Sydney from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Biography

Lisa is a PhD Candidate and senior social worker with several year’s experience working with people living with HIV (PLHIV) both in hospital and community based settings. It is through this work that Lisa became interested in the experiences and psychosocial support needs of young people living with HIV.

Biography

Sara has a background in community development and is the former Executive Officer of Straight Arrows. Sara manages Living Positive Victoria’s peer led services for families living with HIV and the Peer Navigator Program. She contributed to NAPWHA’s National Peer Support Standards for PLHIV, focussing on peer support for children and adolescents.
